A Georgia gas station has turned its chicken tenders into a reason to pull over.
The original Willie B’s Chicken Coupe opened in Athens in late 2024, next to a Marathon gas station on Jefferson Road. Drivers can fuel up and order a full meal without leaving the property.
Gas pumps and fried chicken share the same lot
The restaurant and gas station occupy the same parcel but operate independently. Willie B’s manages food service, while the JP Marathon side handles fuel. Operating hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
The building previously housed a Dairy Queen Grill & Chill, so the drive-thru, indoor seating, and counter service were already established. Customers can park, walk inside, or use the drive-thru without leaving the lot.
Two additional locations have since opened: a second Athens spot on Lexington Road and a third in LaGrange.
Hand-battered tenders anchor the menu
Chicken tenders are the main offering. They’re hand-breaded before frying and sold in three-, four-, or five-piece meals, each including fries, toast, sauce, and a drink. Kids meals come with two tenders, fries, toast, sauce, and a smaller drink.

Sauces include Willie’s Sauce, ranch, spicy fry sauce, honey mustard, and barbecue. The same options can be paired with fries or other sides. Larger orders—twelve, twenty-four, or forty tenders—are available for groups, along with family meal combinations.
The menu remains focused. Tenders can be ordered alone, as part of a meal, or in bulk. Bone-in fried chicken isn’t offered; the selection stays on tenders, sandwiches, fries, toast, and a few sides.
This isn’t the first time a gas station has expanded its food options. Truck stops and convenience stores have long served hot meals, but few combine a full-service restaurant with fuel pumps in one location. The approach resembles travel plazas, though those typically sit along interstates rather than neighborhood streets.
Fresh-cut fries and toast complete the classic tender meal
The tender meals come with fresh-cut fries, toast, sauce, and a drink, but the side menu gives you several other options as well. Fresh-cut fries are sold in regular and large sizes. Coleslaw can be ordered separately and is also available in larger portions. White cheddar macaroni and cheese appears on the menu as another side, with regular and large sizes available. Toast is part of the standard tender meal and can also be ordered separately in larger quantities. Sauces include Willie’s Sauce, ranch, spicy fry sauce, honey mustard, and barbecue sauce.
The restaurant’s menu revolves around chicken tenders, fresh-cut fries, and sides, now available at three locations. Fresh sides like these have become a draw for roadside stops across the South.
