Royal Caribbean takes delivery of Legend ship

Royal Caribbean has taken delivery of Legend of the Seas, the third ship in its Icon Class, following a ceremony at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland, ahead of its scheduled debut in July 2026.

The delivery ceremony was attended by Royal Caribbean Group Chairman and CEO Jason Liberty, Royal Caribbean President and CEO Michael Bayley, Meyer Turku CEO Casimir Lindholm, and other executives.

Legend of the Seas is scheduled to begin service with 7-night Western Mediterranean itineraries starting July 4, 2026, sailing from Barcelona, Spain, and Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy.

After the summer season in Europe, the ship is planned to reposition to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in November 2026 to operate 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean cruises, including visits to Perfect Day CocoCay.
