WTM London sets record donation for Just a Drop

WTM London has achieved a major milestone by making its largest donation to date to the international charity Just a Drop, driven by unprecedented generosity at its 2025 event.

A new benchmark for donations

The 2025 edition of WTM London yielded £8,300 in donations from exhibitors, which was then matched by the organization, resulting in a total of £16,600. Furthermore, attendees were also given the opportunity to contribute directly through the registration process, potentially increasing the overall financial contribution.

Just a Drop has maintained a 28-year partnership with WTM London, during which time the organization has raised over £140,000. This funding has supported 12,574 individuals across 17 safe water projects in 9 countries, showing the significant impact of their collaboration.

According to Chris Carter-Chapman, Event Director of WTM London: “We are proud to be a Just a Drop Founding Partner and delighted to see our financial contribution rise to new heights in 2025 thanks to the continued generosity of show exhibitors and attendees.”

Restoring watersheds in Nicaragua

The funds generated by WTM London 2025 are being utilized to support a Watershed Restoration Programme in Nicaragua. Implemented in partnership with El Porvenir, the program aims to benefit agricultural communities in the region.

Despite Nicaragua’s abundant water resources, the country’s civil war and natural disasters have severely impacted its infrastructure, making it challenging for people in drought-prone areas to access safe water. Currently, 19% of the population lacks access to safe water, highlighting the need for targeted interventions.

The watershed programme is specifically focused on the Waslala and Camoapa regions, where rural communities are increasingly vulnerable to climate-related challenges such as drought and soil degradation. Additional co-funding will enable the project to expand its reach and amplify its impact.

As noted, access to safe water has a transformative impact on communities, not only protecting their health but also securing their livelihoods. The record-breaking donation from WTM London 2025 will support a watershed project in Nicaragua, changing the lives of rural communities now and in the future. “We’re very grateful to WTM for their continued support and to everyone who has helped make this project a reality,” said Fiona Jeffery OBE, Founder and President of Just a Drop.

Future plans

Just a Drop will be participating in WTM London 2026, providing attendees with the opportunity to learn more about the charity’s projects and get involved. The show remains a long-standing supporter of Just a Drop’s water projects worldwide, demonstrating its commitment to promoting sustainability and making a positive impact.
